Brilliant. I'm a drummer and have started work on this variation slowly--very very slowly. I double checked my UA-cam play back speed settings when I listened to your video...nope, people can play that fast! (not just Gould). Incredible playing. In control, musical, clean. I've tried to play this piece in piano and is hell of a piece, so many difficult jumps on left hand and close notes, normally its played with 4 hands to ease this, so props on being able to play it on 2hands

It’s too bad he didn’t want to play in America, bc the people aren’t in charge of what the government does. Except the people who elected Trump. Every President and governing body for the past 20 years has appalled me in some way or another, and I’m not alone. So we get doubly punished, by never getting a chance to hear Zimmerman and by him holding us Americans responsible for government actions we can’t even influence.

I love how Zimerman never gets trapped by any question. He answers honestly and directly but also carefully and considerate.

I'm Danish and have a special love for piano concertos. I thought I'd venture into finding some Danish composers as well as some Swedish ones who wrote for the piano. I'm ashamed to say I was completely green to knowing these even though I'm Danish (albeit live in Australia). Nevertheless, I found incredible works by the likes of Victor Bendix, Emil Hartmann, Otto Malling, Ludvig Schytte among others from Denmark. And from Sweden I found Wilhelm Stenhammar and Adolf Wiklund who are just incredible. Equally as good as most of the big name piano concerto writers. I was blown away by not knowing this. Do yourself a favour and look them up on UA-cam. Amazing composers.

There are no recordings from him that I own that are not awe-inspiring for me. He is one of my favourite pianists.
